the ultimate fit / ymca lifestyle change spring 2019
UltimateFit is excited to announce the 2019 UltimateFit / YMCA Jumpstart / Team 13 annual Lifestyle Change partisipants. Ultimate Fit has chosen three people who are ready for a lifestyle change. Our participants have never completed a 1/2 marathon before and are interested in sharing their inspiring journey as they participate in the YMCA Jumpstart & Team 13 training programs with the goal of completing the 2019 Evansville 1/2 Marathon in the fall. How were they picked? Our participants wrote a short story about themselves and why they want to make a healthy lifestyle change. After they were chosen the participants received a FREE Walker / Runner package from UltimateFit which will include, a free shoe fitting at the store, shoes, socks, headband, Flipbelt, UltimateFit shirt and waterbottle along with free entrys into the Jumpstart / Team 13 training programs and a free entry into the 2018 YMCA 1/2 Marathon. They will make new friends along their journey and will not find a more welcoming, supportive and encouraging environment than the YMCAs training programs and UltimateFit of Evansville. We have had very exciting results from past participants. Keep your eyes open for an opportunity to be a participant in 2020!
Jasmine beasleyCongratulations Jasmine Beasley on being one of UltimateFit / YMCA Lifestyle Change Participants enjoy your free shoes & gear! Here is her story...My name is Jasmine Beasley. I'm a 30 year old mom of one 5 year old little boy. And I work full time as a medical assistant at Deaconess. I guess a little about me is I spent pretty much all of my life over weight.. It got even worse after having my son. I was just always down on myself for it and I just never felt good at all. Then one day I decided I was fed up and over the last 2 or so year I dropped about 170lbs.
I always had a dream of being fit and enjoying things like running and working out. My ultimate goals are to participate in a 1/2 marathon and then one day a full marathon. Even thought at this point in my journey that goal seems so far away, I think with the right training and motivational support, I can make this goal a reality. Even if I fail trying, I want to know that I gave it my everything. I would love to participate in this program! I would give it my absolute all and would be 110% committed to finishing no matter how hard it seems. |
Jennifer stoopsCongratulations Jennifer Stoops on being one of UltimateFit / YMCA Lifestyle Change Participants enjoy your free shoes & gear! ....My name is Jennifer Stoops and I have been a Special Education teacher within the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation for the past 19 years. The journey to become a healthier me began in the Fall of 2016. My clothes weren’t fitting and I had no energy whatsoever. From a medical standpoint, I was obese and was experiencing several medical issues as a result of my weight. Through a very strict diet program, I was able to lose 45+lbs within a years time. Unfortunately, my diet program did not include exercise and I have gained half of that weight back. I am ready to reboot with a sound diet and exercise program and getting back into shape.
I began thinking about a running a half marathon when I was invited to attend the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon in November 2019, as a supporter to friends who were running. I decided I didn’t need to be a supporter, I could run along with them. This was a very lofty goal for someone who doesn’t have any running experience whatsoever. After registering for the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon, my fitness goals widened. I have set my sights on completing the Evansville Half Marathon and putting in the work with YMCA Jumpstart and Team 13 training programs. I want to cross the finish lines knowing I put my mind to something and accomplished it. I’m ready to be a better me. Today, I say yes! |
Kiley NashCongratulations Kiley Nash on being one of UltimateFit / YMCA Lifestyle Change Participants enjoy your free shoes & gear! Here is her story....I just saw your post about your 1/2 marathon giveaway. My name is Kiley Nash. I am 26 years old and I just had a son in August of 2018. All of my life I have been plus size up until the year before I got pregnant. I have always struggled with my weight and I have tried diets in the past but I’ve never been able to prove to myself I can do it. I have been trying for the past several months to kick my butt in gear and lose the weight and get healthy but I really couldn’t focus on it until March when I left my sons father. I finally escaped a very abusive 4 year relationship and I am finally able to focus on being the best version of myself. I have already lost 15lbs and have been trying to get healthy enough to be able to finish the March of Dimes walk coming up on May 11th. If I am chosen I will train my hardest and I will finish that 1/2 marathon. I am hoping to train to run a 5k in Indianapolis in June for domestic violence awareness partially for what I have been through and for a dear friend of mine that I shared a birthday with who was murdered along with her unborn son 2 years ago in her Tennessee apartment as a result of domestic violence. I want to show not only everyone I know but especially myself that love really will prevail and that you can change your whole life with one decision. Thank you for your time. Have a great day.
