Jim Nolan MANAGER, FIT SPECIALIST
Jim has 30+ years of running experience, and has been in the shoe industry for 18 years. He is certified in Brooks, Saucony, Asics and Mizuno fit training. Jim was an All-American in Cross Country and Track at the University of Southern Indiana. He has won several races, including the first Arts Fest River Run and the Indianapolis Mini-Marathon. He was inducted into the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) and the University of Southern Indiana Halls of Fame. Jim coached at the collegiate and high school levels in both cross country and track. As a high school coach, he had several runners compete at the Indiana State Finals. His personal bests are as follows:

Mark Barnhart FIT SPECIALIST
Mark is an avid runner who, when he began his running journey, participated in almost every local 5K event in the region! Today, Mark has directed his training and racing towards marathons and ultra-distance racing, and has competed in many of these events. Mark is certified in Brooks, Saucony, Asics and Mizuno fit training. Mark works part time at Ultimate Fit and works full-time as a mechanical draftsman.
Mike Hillyard FIT SPECIALIST, SPECIAL EVENTS SPEAKER
USI Head Coach and Ultimate Fit fit specialist/special event speaker, Mike Hillyard, enters his 16tth season at the helm of the USI men's and women's cross country/track and field programs. He took the reigns of the women's program in 1997, and the men's program in 1998. A 14-time GLVC Coach of the Year in men's and women's cross country, Mike has directed the men's cross country program to seven consecutive GLVC titles, and eight in the last nine years. He has also led the women's squad to three of the last four GLVC crowns, and a total of six conference championships during his tenure. Mike also enjoys competing in many local running races, triathlons and biking events.
Curt Jones OWNER
Curt has over 25 years experience in athletics, from weightlifting to cycling to running. His interest in running was sparked by watching his son take part in running competitions in grade school. After purchasing Brooks running shoes for himself, and experiencing the benefits, one thing led to another. Today, Curt is the owner of Ultimate Fit, where he says that it makes his day when a customer slides into the "just right" pair of shoes, and says, "WOW, these feel like they were made for my feet!". Along with weekly training, Curt participates in local races, where he enjoys running with his wife and many customers. Curt is certified in Brooks, Saucony, Newton and Asics fit training.
Cindy Jones OWNER
Ultimate Fit co-owner, Cindy Jones, is an avid runner and cyclist. A member of GERWC (Greater Evansville Runner/Walker Club) and the EBC (Evansville Bicycle Club), she enjoys running, and has competed in many different road and trail events, ranging in lengths from 5k, to half marathons. Her biking events range from 15 miles, to the 160-mile RAIN (Ride Across Indiana), to the Hammerfest, a local TT race. Even with her busy schedule, Cindy finds the time to volunteer at many different running and cycling events in the Evansville area. She is certified as a AFFA and YMCA personal trainer, Reebok Cycle instructor, pilates instructor, along with many other certifications. She has been teaching and training at the YMCA since 2002, and also enjoys mountain biking, while camping with her family.
Jeff Williams FIT SPECIALIST
Jeff comes to us as a very active member of the local Southern Indiana Triathlon Team. Although his athletic background began as a distance runner in high school and college, he now balances his training across all three triathlon disciplines: swimming, biking and running. Jeff brings a wealth of triathlon knowledge to Ultimate Fit. Among Jeff's favorite activities are trail running and open-water endurance swimming in the Ohio River.
Aubrey Slater FIT SPECIALIST
Aubrey is the most recent addition to the Ultimate Fit crew. She enjoys running approximately 20 miles a week, and participates in various local races every year. Aubrey supplements her fitness routine with yoga, hiking, Zumba and Piloxing, as well. She is certified in Brooks, Saucony, Asics and Mizuno fit training.

Tim is an avid runner and weekend warrior cyclist. He competes in races ranging from 5k to full marathons, and also races in track meets. He is a member of the GERWC, where he has held the positions of Vice President and Website Editor. He has completed four marathons, including the Boston Marathon twice, where he finished 1562nd out of 20348 finishers. He also broke the three hour barrier at the Sunburst Marathon, completing it in 2:59.30. He recently finished the Laufenfest in 7th place, with a time of 16:53. Tim has been competing in indoor triathlons, and is currently training for a biathlon, the YMCA Series Cup (5K, 10K, half marathon), and the Indy Monumental Marathon.
Drew has been an avid racewalker for 13 years. He got into racewalking when his wife, Linda, started participating in local races. He enjoys racing in USATF racewalk events, as well as local 5K races and half marathons. He would like to try a 50K, at some point in the near future. Drew was the 2007 USATF National Master 5K Champion, took 3rd overall in the Open, and he was on the winning 5K National Championship Team. He also enjoys bike riding, hiking, and working on his swimming.
Gabe began running sprints at the age of 6, when he joined a local youth track club. He has since competed in several events in the GERWC summer track series. He would often accompany his dad to local 5K races and, at the age of 7, he completed his first official 5K. Gabe plans to continue to focus on distance running, and he is excited about running many more 5Ks. In addition to running, Gabe enjoys reading and riding his bicycle.
Nic is a local triathlete, runner, and cyclist who has been on a journey of personal health for the past eight years. He began his journey weighing 275 lbs. and is now competing at an amazing 115 lbs. by changing both diet and lifestyle (not to mention a whole lot of determination, hard work, and miles). His first triathlon was the 2009 YMCA Sprint Triathlon, placing 3rd in his age group. With four triathlon seasons and a knee surgery under his belt, he has competed in four Sprints, four Olympics, three Half-Ironmans, and an array of local 5k, 10k and half marathon races, placing in the top 3 of his age group, and 2nd overall at the 2012 YMCA Sprint Triathlon. Currently, Nic is looking strong and ready to start his fifth season with 13 races scheduled for 2013.
Curt came into running with a solid cycling background and, today, enjoys competing in local running events. Curt says, "Running is much more demanding than cycling. There's no coasting and no gears. It's just you and what you've got against the clock. Every race is a race of truth, both mentally and physically".
Running has been a hobby for Aubrey, off and on, for 19 years. She began with the track team in 8th grade with the encouragement of a classmate. It wasn't until a precautionary surgery in 2012 to prevent colon cancer that she made it a lifestyle. since then, she has participated in more than two dozen races, including three half-marathons, in 2013. Aubrey runs 10-25 miles a week, and supplements her workouts with weight training, yoga, and a variety of exercise classes.
On January 10th, 2012, the Evansville running community and the Ultimate Fit Race Team lost a true inspriation to all runners/walkers.
Harold was a frequent winner in his age division at local & national level races, Harold was a four-time gold medal winner at the National Senior Olympics. He won his first 5K in the 50-and-over division of the Senior Olympics in 1999 at Orlando, Fla., when he was 75. He followed it up with victories in 2001 at Baton Rouge, La., 2003 at Norfolk, Va., and 2005 at Pittsburgh, Pa., and placed second in the 5K in the 80-and-over division at the 2007 Senior Olympics at Louisville, Ky. He ran his first marathon at age 87 in the Southern Indiana Classic in 2010.
Harold was a frequent participant in the Southern Indiana Classic training runs, and we have had many participants relay their stories to us of how Harold has inspired them in their running/wakling endeavors.
